The Seamless Garment Speaker Series: Welcoming Refugees
JHS Welcome Center
Join us for our “Seamless Garment” speaker series, sponsored by the Office of Service & Justice. The late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin coined the Seamless Garment as an expression (drawn from John 19:23) as a way of illustrating the coherence of Catholic teachings on the sanctity of human life, and meant to underscore a “consistent ethic of life.” Mark your calendars as we welcome speakers on campus Thursday, November 17th @ Community Period (1:55-3:00pm) to talk about how we can welcome refugees who are resettling here in Sacramento with dignity. Any student who registers and attends the event will receive 1 hour of Core Service & Justice credit (list your Service & Justice teacher as your supervisor).
